Although I agree with this approach for strong reasons I’ll outline later, I do not think it should be the starting point. Don’t get me wrong, I dabble a little in social media marketing too and recommend all new bloggers to get social, but the stats for visitors from social are completely different to people landing on my site through search results. They spend more time on site, have a higher click through rate and engage more overall. Why? Because people use sites like Facebook and Twitter to casually browse the web and they’re just no in the ‘buying mindset’. Compare this to someone searching online with a question you can answer, with a problem you can offer a solution for – can you see how it’s completely different?
It is also better to view ClickBank as a tool for generating leads, instead of hoping to sell 100,000 copies of your e-book immediately. Use ClickBank to drive visitors to your website, then get them on a newsletter list and market to them repeatedly. You may want to offer a contest or freebie along with the newsletter to encourage people to sign up with you.
